Faculty
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese's faculty come from diverse educational backgrounds and engage in a broad spectrum of teaching and research. Teaching and Research Faculty engage undergraduates in the major and minor programs in Spanish and Portuguese and graduate students in the Department's PhD program. This teaching is based on their research into literature and culture broadly writ in a variety of historical periods and global sites. Teaching Faculty immerse undergraduate students in the learning of Spanish and Portuguese in the Department's language programs. They bring a deep and broad knowledge in linguistics, second-language acquisitions, literature, and culture into the classroom.
